It was a wonderful

typical fall day in

Northern Wisconsin.

34° with snow

We came with

goodies for the kids.

A group of 6th graders

waiting to find out

what it's all about.

Firefighter Rick (L) and Firefighter Neal (R) start the show

Firefighter Neal gets his first volunteer, Brianna,  from the audience

Brianna plays a pretty calm burn victim

What's Next !

"I'll huff, and I'll puff, and......" sorry different story. Actually this young lady represents a fire that just started

This group represents how the fire grew in just 4-minutes

Beddy Bye for Firefighter Neal

It's The SMOKE DETECTOR!!!

Gotta climb out the window to a safe place !

Firefighter Rick puts on his turnout gear while Firefighter Neal describes it

"The lining keeps the firefighter safe in the fire."

"This is what a firefighter looks like when he enters your house."

"Hi Kids ! It's Me! Sparky!"

"HI SPARKY!"

It's time to check out the fire trucks

They're big and filled with cool stuff!

Firefighter Ryan say "Come on in"

"What does this do?"

Even more stuff to check out

"Eng. # 1 got a lot of visitors"

Just how long is the line?

The Smoke House is a great tool to show people how difficult it is to see in a fire.
Getting the smoke started Heather keeps the kids under control
"O.K. who wants to go in first?" It's good and smoky now
Ethan prepares to rescue the kids from the back porch "O.K. One at a time."
"I gotcha." "Is it our turn yet?"

Steve says, "Where's the grill?" Sparky decides to give Ryan just a little trim off that wannabe beard of his.
Inside the smokehouse before the smoke is pumped in. It's starting to get hazy
And hazier It's getting hard to see up the stairs
The smoke gets pretty thick "Even thicker"
"You can't see your hand in front of your face." Sparky hands out gifts to all the kids.
The following pictures were all drawn by the students at AV W Grade School as a tribute.
Some of the older kids learning about fire prevention. Firefighter Jim explains how some of our equipment is used.

Firefighter Rod puts on his turnout gear
Firefighter Jim checks to makes sure everything is hooked up correctly This is how a firefighter enters your house.
Our job is to make sure everyone gets out of the house safely Stop, Drop, & Roll
and roll, and roll! Firefighter Mike continues talking about fire safety.

Sue gets a big hug from her grand-daughter

Thanks Sparky. We'll see you next year.
